Battery and e-waste initiative inspires young minds

At Agratas, community always comes first. As part of our commitment to building a cleaner and more sustainable future, we have launched a battery and electronic-waste awareness programme in schools across Ahmedabad City, India - near to the site of our Sanand battery manufacturing facility.

The programme, which began in August this year, has reached around 1,200 students aged between 11 and 14, sparking important conversations about e-waste, its growing impact on the planet and the need for responsible recycling. Children have learned how discarded electronics can harm the environment and how small, conscious steps taken today can protect tomorrow.

A big thank you goes out to our incredible volunteers, all of whom are Agratas team members and who have brought our initial education sessions to life alongside class teachers. With their energy and knowledge, they have explained the dangers of e-waste but also connected the children to our business and our vision of a greener future.

The children are now stepping into the role of young change-makers, safely collecting e-waste from their homes, schools and neighbourhoods, and encouraging others to join the movement. In the months ahead, we'll revisit these schools to track progress, refresh learnings, and keep the momentum going.

The journey will culminate in early 2026 with a grand art exhibition, where students will showcase creative artwork, sculptures and performances inspired by e-waste and using discarded materials. This event will bring together schools, parents and Agratas team members in a collective pledge towards a greener tomorrow.
