The Opportunity
Are you passionate about next-generation energy technology? Agratas is seeking a Process Engineer to support our cutting-edge Li-ion battery cell prototype line. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with R&D and production teams to develop, optimise, and characterise anode and cathode electrode processes including slurry mixing, coating, and calendaring.

Key Responsibility Areas
- Electrode Process Development:
Assist in the development and optimisation of slurry preparation, coating, and calendaring processes to improve electrode quality and throughput. Characterisation & Analysis:
Develop and apply methods for analysing slurries and coatings. Use process and quality data to identify improvements in fabrication techniques.Hands-On Equipment Operation:
Operate lab and pilot-scale equipment such as mixers, coaters, and calendaring machines. Utilise analytical tools to assess slurry and electrode quality.Process Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of experimental setups, procedures, and results. Support the creation of work instructions, SOPs, and control plans.Training & Collaboration:
Train lab technicians in process methods. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues in a fast-paced environment.Lab Organisation & Safety:
Ensure lab areas are kept clean, well-organised, and compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Job Context
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
Solid understanding of Li-ion battery electrode processes
Hands-on experience with lab or pilot-scale mixing, coating, and calendaring equipment
Skilled in handling fine materials and conducting precision measurements
Familiarity with lab safety protocols, particularly for chemicals and battery materials
Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to data collection and analysis
Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
Qualifications:
Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field
Background in laboratory or pilot-scale manufacturing
Ideally suited for individuals with a keen interest in R&D and hands-on process development
