What you'll do...

An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Process Engineer within the Electrode/Coating area of our GME function. You will be on the forefront of designing, creating and implementing a brand-new manufacturing facility within an emerging industry. At the scale of this project, you will not only be delivering complex and cutting-edge technologies but also ensuring that this can be implemented successfully in a completely new environment.


Reporting into the Process Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Be the primary subject matter expert for a specific manufacturing process area
  • Develop the manufacturing process, including the design, control strategy and risk mitigation activity for key areas of the end-to-end production process
  • Develop and maintain all process documentation; SWIs, PFMEAs, Control Plans and associated Quality Assurance requirements
  • Lead the selection, implementation, commissioning and ramp-up of manufacturing equipment and capability
  • Define implementation plans and associated actions to ensure compliance with targets for OEE, yield, cycle time and product quality throughout the industrialisation lifecycle
  • Work closely with equipment vendors and technical partners to ensure the production process is delivered to target.
  • Ongoing ownership of key process control points, using data and analysis to drive continuous improvement to product and process
  • Close integration with R&D teams to inform technology roadmap and ensure ongoing alignment with manufacturing capability.

The team you'll join...

The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.

What you'll bring...

  • Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing), or extensive experience of process driven manufacturing environments.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in a highly automated or controlled environment
  • Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes and associated challenges or introducing new processes/plant.
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental considerations for process design
  • Experience of delivering new manufacturing capability throughout the maturation lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience of data analysis & manufacturing problem solving skills
  • Desirable – Experience working on a large scale high-hazard industrial facility.
