What you'll do...

As the Health & Safety and Environment Advisor for Construction, you will assist the Construction Site Health and Safety Manager to ensure that the Client Duties under CDM 2015 Regulations are fulfilled through monitoring and continuous assessment of multiple Principal Contractors working on the ABF Construction Site.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Carry out onsite Environment, Health and Safety audits, create detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide competent advice where required to improve practices across all areas of the project.
  • Work with all Principal Contractors on the project to ensure environmental constraints are well managed, protective measures are maintained and proactive steps taken to prevent future works being delayed.
  • Liaise with Principal Contractors to ensure compliance with their own policies, procedures and risk assessments.
  • Aid the Construction Site Health and Safety Manager with the development of policies, procedures and other documentation.

 

This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract with the requirement to be site-based 5 days/week (with options to work from home periodically, dependent on business needs)

What you'll bring...

  • Confident in presenting information and leading training/information sessions.
  • Ability to assess documentation such as RAMS to assess compliance.
  • Capable of reading and understanding drawings/plans relating to the development of the project.
  • Ability to lead by example in terms of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to foster and maintain an open working relationship across the project with multiple companies.
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S Legislation, CDM 2015 Regulations and construction site safety practices and the ability to research changes and new developments.
  • Experience in conducting accident/incident investigations and audits.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Membership of professional body (IOSH or IIRSM)
  • Valid CSCS Card
